My thoughts on the deer population and predators

If you believe there's only 662 wolves in this state your drinking too much kool-aid. Try around 1500 or more. The DNR and wolf advocates low ball the number so it doesn't sound so bad while blowing smoke and mirrors covering up what wolves do.Wolves require roughly 3000 lbs. of meat yearly,that could equate to roughly 25-27 deer a year. Stop your whining (wisconsin deer hunters)

I so sick of hearing how the dnr is so bad and they're lying to us. Everyone is so caught up in the politics. Who were the people that shot all the deer? We did. Don't shoot everything that moves. Don't take 5 does off your land a year. You know you dont have to use every tag you get. It's common sense. Why would you boycott hunting? To get back at the dnr. Cmon. Wood Duck hunting SW Louisiana style.

Having lived here in Louisiana less than six months now I thought it was time to try out my hunting lease for "Wood Ducks". After moving here I found a good lease to get on of about 4400 acres of mixed pines and hardwood bottoms. I was thinking acorns and deer and hog hunting. Too much information on the back tag. A REASON TO BOYCOTT

I participated by not buying a gun deer license and Boycotting this gun deer season.I did hunt two days during the archery season. I lost my back tag holder with the back tag and carcass tags in it. I spent a month trying to protect my Identity from whoever found my back tag holder. It has my Name,Address,Drivers License Number,Address, and My Physical Description on it, and My Signature. I don't qualify for any credit cards but someone else has two with my name on them, and they tried to…

Owls and Coyotes

We had wind chill warnings out all weekend,-35 below.But couldn't stand seeing the moonlight go to waste.Called a friend who's just getting into calling,and I guess he's as nuts as me.We went out about 9pm.We made our first stand in an alfalfa field that runs along a nice little cedar swamp.We had a cross wind,and tucked our selves in the fence row shadows, with the swamp straight out in front of us about 450 yards.

When things come together on a not so perfect calling setup.

Not exactly a killing spree,but a good hunt nonetheless.

The Sherry Road coyote hunt

Only had time today for one stand.Decided to try the spot that I called in and killed a single male a few weeks back.That was the first time I tried that spot,and figured it was worth another shot.The wind had died down since yesterday,with a front moving in tonight.Again,I sat with my back to the north,with the wind coming from the SW.Looking out into this logged out select cut type of a ravine.

A nite time fox hunt

This is another story of one of my winter hunts,it's a sneaky redfox this time.

Anyone going out for the anterless hunt?

I'm torn - there is an antlerless hunt next weekend in WI but I'm conflicted. The doe population seems to be at record lows, but on the other hand I have no meat in the freezer.
