Hey Guys, I want to buy a trail cam and can't decide which one to buy. There's so many different ones to pick from. I've seen StealthCams in the stores around here. Also Cuddeback, but I've heard they're a waste of money. I don't want to spend over $200 for the cam, SD card, bracket and whatever else may be needed. Do any of you guys use them and would you recommend one brand over another? I'd appreciate any suggestions or advice you may have.

I've got a Moultrie that takes some great pictures. Which ever brand you go with I would get one with IR.

I saw one at the Deer and Turkey Expo today from Cuddeback that was about half the size of normal one's and was going for about $160 with infared. If I could buy a new one now that size would be superior for a lot of reasons. Harder for other hunters and animals to see, strap it to smaller tress etc...So that's my 2 cents.

That's interesting...I haven't considered Cuddeback because I've heard so many bad things about them. Some stores won't even sell them anymore because of all the problems people had with them. Maybe they've improved their product a lot.

I'm still shopping around. Thanks so much for this info. I'll go to their website and read all about this new small trail cam. C

I really haven't heard anything bad about Cuddeback's. I've got a few buddies that swear by them. The pictures they show me turn out very crisp.

Hey Everyone! Today we bought a StealthCam and have it set up in the backyard to see if any bunnies or squirrels want to have their pictures taken. Next week, we'll be heading back to our cabin in Northern Wisconsin and we'll install the cam up there. I'll post any good pictures I get. Thanks for the information you provided me here in this discussion. It helped me/us make our decision. Cindy

Hey Guys again! Well, we've got the cam hanging on a tree at our cabin. Just throw down a little corn and they magically appear!

That's a really sharp picture. I just put mine up for the summer too, and now I want more than one (of course) because it just seems like for the price it's worth knowing patterns all year long. Is that stealth cam smaller than the standard 6x12 ones?
Either way looks good

I agree, that is a sharp picture. What model is that?

I have a Stealth I590 and it takes great pictures, only wish it was IR. I also have a wildview and a wildview II, for what ya pay they are ok, but no date or time in the wildview.

their all the same but make sure its digital

Yes, they are all digital, but there is definately a difference in trigger speed, and detection angles of the lense. Here's a good link that charts out the differences.
